How will you be assessed?

A-level assessment  

You will sit three two hour written exams – each exam will be worth a third of the A-level. Paper one will cover markets and market failure, paper two will cover the national and international economy and paper three will draw on material from the whole course. The papers will feature a range of question styles.

What will I study?

The AQA A-level Economics course offers a comprehensive exploration of the global economy. You’ll delve into microeconomic concepts like supply and demand, market structures, and factor markets. On the macroeconomic side, you’ll study national income, money, government policy, and international trade.

Beyond these core topics, you’ll also examine economic policy objectives and the tools used to achieve them. This includes fiscal and monetary policy, as well as supply-side policies. You’ll learn how to evaluate economic policies using techniques like cost-benefit analysis.
