GCSE Poetry Live
On Thursday 2nd of March, Mrs Kirk along with Miss Eyles-Smith and two other members of staff took a group of our KS4 students to St. George's Hall to attend a stimulating day of poetry. The hall was full of students from schools from all across the region and the atmosphere was lively. The poets, including John Agard and Carol Ann Duffy, presented a selection of their poems offering their thoughts on the inspiration for them and the creative process. Also, the lead examiners for GCSE literature provided valuable insight into how to write well about poetry to help students in their GCSEs. It was an interesting and valuable day with the poets bringing their poems to life with their passionate delivery. Well done to all students that attended.
