Yr 7 and Yr 8 STEM Assemblies
On Monday 16th January, Mr Martin from the Science Faculty welcomed the BAE Systems Roadshow Team into school to present 'From the Depths of the Ocean to Outer Space' in a special assembly for years 7 & 8.
The focus was on the differences and similarities between Earth's ocean and outer space, and how engineers in the Royal Navy, Royal Airforce and BAE Systems develop submarines, fighter jets and spacecraft to withstand these challenging environments.
The presentation was delivered with high energy and enthusiasm combined with many fantastic visual effects. This gave our students lots of information and food for thought.
Our students loved the assemblies and were really engaged throughout. So many students volunteered to help with the challenges and it sparked a lot of excitement and conversations afterwards.
Our thanks go to the roadshow team for this amazing show which has inspired many of our students in the world of Science, Technology & Engineering. We look forward to welcoming them back next year!
